Schemata Workshop, founded in 2004, provides high-quality, full architectural services to public and private clients on new and renovation projects.
As a staff of thirteen, we are nimble, collaborative, and efficient problem-solvers. We are expert listeners, incorporating community input at every step of the process, and prioritizing their needs while seeking sustainable, future-oriented design solutions. We bring our diverse backgrounds and expertise to each project, and are unified by a shared dedication to our values. These values -- equity, sustainability, accessibility, community health, and livability -- are instilled into every project.
Our principals are hands-on, actively working on projects from inception through completion. This approach has allowed us to successfully tackle many sizes and scopes of projects, whether it be 110 units of transit-oriented affordable housing in Capitol Hill, an accessible gathering space for the community of Burien, or new volumetric modular housing in Renton.
Schemata Workshop is a registered Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) in the state of Washington. Schemata Workshop recently renewed our JUST label from the International Living Futures Institute: a “nutritional label” for companies that value transparency and social equity. In 2017 we became signatory to 100% Talent, a gender equity initiative for King County. In 2016, Schemata Workshop was the recipient of the Minority Small Business of the Year Award from King County Executive for leadership in business transparency and social equity.
