This modern, second home for a young couple who enjoy visits to the Carolina beaches in (almost) any season, sits apart from the surrounding residential developments as a replacement for a previously dilapidated structure.  The couple use the home as an opportunity for hosting family/friends, and as a jumping off point to the surrounding beaches and dunes.

An easy walk to the beach for morning surf sessions, and a modern aesthetic were the only directives from this easy going couple.  The raised structure, allowing for flood mitigation during heavy storms, gives the house outstanding views of the ocean beyond.  Bleached wood slates mimic the more rustic shingled homes in the area, while creating a mix of screened areas and panoramic windows.
