Aurora Borealis - Arctic Observatory

The Aurora Borealis attracts thousands of tourists each year to experience the Northern Lights. The location of this site is Rovaniemi, Finland and contains an Arctic Observatory connected with a planetary, restaurant, indoor pool area, spa, and hotel space. My inspiration shows the connection between the Northern Lights and the naural surrounding materials and features. Homo sapiens have been evolving on our planet for millions of years, creating various new discoveries and technologies yet the world has very little physical change. There are numerous belief systems and religions that try to understand our world but for many generations, the Northern Lights are still one of nature’s greatest mysteries. This phenomenon has various theories trying to support why and how this legendary creation came about
and its purpose. Our explanation has changed over time. In our modern era, the Northern Lights are caused by a chemical reaction between solar winds, oxygen, and nitrogen that gets set off at very low temperatures. These sky and earthly battles attract thousands of tourists that visit Rovaniemi, Finland to experience the Northern Lights.
