Introduction

This projects task was to design a new residential mixed-use 75 foot total height midrise buidling for senior housing, at 520 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. The site is located at the corner of W Pico Blvd and S Flower St, a block away from the Los Angeles Convention Center and half a block away from the Pico Metro Blue Line Station. Also within the vaccinity of the site is Dignity Health Hospital, which is located about two blocks to the south. 

Concept

To design a community within a community by connecting each resident with each other and the surrounding area. Residents with a wide range of physical abilities and backgrounds would be able to come together to live, relax, and enjoy their remaining years in a comfortable environment. The design provides not only a sense of place for the residents but also a connection by giving ample opportunities to interact with each other.
