About

I  have a master’s degree in architecture from Iran and recently finished my post-pro degree with a concentration on computational design and historic preservation at Texas Tech University.

In my role during the Fall and Spring of 2022 as the graduate assistant of the second-year studio at Texas Tech University, I was responsible for assisting approximately 15 students in designing and troubleshooting technical issues during 3-D and physical modeling. I also developed my communication skills with students and teachers through these positions. Communicating with students led me to evaluate their projects elaborately and share efficacious comments on their design projects to improve their competencies.

Education

Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, US, Masters, M.S in Architecture

I have published two versions of my paper “Computational Generation of Hybrid Façades for a Focal Context: The Case of Naser-Khosrow Street in Tehran” in reputable venues. In addition, I have broadened my horizons in historical and computational design through my master’s thesis, “Generating a Planned Community Based on a Vernacular Historic Village through Shape Grammar Methodology.”
I made dramatic improvements in the quality of my work, including preparing drawings, reports, and pictures of historical buildings in our local environment. In this regard, I participated in the Competition of Holland Prize, an annual competition for the best single-sheet measured drawing of a historic building, place, or structure. My documents were sent to the HABS Collection in the Library of Congress.
Besides Historic preservation courses, I also had computational studies and expanded my knowledge in both fields.
Being an assistant at studios and participating in reviews also helped me drastically in designing.

Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran, Masters, Architecture

I participate in the 2017 IAAC competition. The respective topic was responsive cities. This project familiarized me with a teamwork process in designing. My teamwork experience exceeded over time through collaboration with members in preparing the booklet on the topic of “Modern Industria Heritage.”
I also secured a DAAD grant for a study trip to Germany to participate in TU Berlin and Bauhaus University, Weimar workshop. This opportunity helped me gain a new perspective on modern heritage.
I developed a computational technique that reflected on my master’s thesis on the topic of “Redesigning of buildings’ façade of historic district by shape grammar (Case study: Selected modern heritage monuments of Tehran.”

Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran, Bachelors, Architecture

During design studios, I got familiar with the process of design, and I gradually developed my skills in software related to Architecture drawings, including Autocad, 3Dmax, and photoshop. I also practiced hand drawing, hand sketching, and physical modeling, which helped develop the concept of designing in architecture.
I also practiced photography and studied histories of architecture which I believe had a crucial role in my architectural knowledge.
