New York, NY
After being mistreated by past low-budget renovations, this building needed an intervention to update its mechanical systems and reorganize its interior while respecting its original historic features. All individual units went through substantial renovation and redesign to maximize open space and highlight details like brickwork and fireplaces. The facade was refreshed with a custom entry door based on original photos and upper apartment widows were replaced with French doors. Each feature of the contemporary renovation was designed to complement, yet remain distinct, from the restored historic details.
