Washington Market is an adaptive re-use of the Historic Madison Wisconsin Train Depot. The existing terminal is currently used as a bicycle shop and will remain so. The two other buildings will house a new coffee shop called Porter, and a restaurant called Bandit. The platform which connects these buildings will be glassed in and remain a 3-4 season marketplace. Two of the existing train cars will be removed to open up the platform to the sun and the bicycle path to the South. In place of the train cars, a boardwalk will be built for outdoor shopping, dining, circulation, and entertaining of many types.
