New York, NY
located on a prime stretch of West Broadway in SoHo, this fully renovated retail space recalls the neighborhood's historic cast iron buildings through the design of a facade that features an exposed steel frame surrounding large panes of clear glass. The steel frame divides and subdivides the storefront into two identical stores, while creating a framework for hanging signage that appears a natural part of the facade. On the interior, the upper floor plates are pulled back from the facade in order to allow more light into the lower floors creating a dynamic relationship between the two floors and the surrounding neighborhood.
