The conversion of the gymnasium to a COVID-19 temporary hospital required the development of oxygen, plumbing, and electricity systems, the beam system, and the installation of a tent in order to cover the Olympic pool where the patients zone were.
Site and Idea
The site presented numerous logistics disadvantages, such as several levels for the development of the entire hospital, small streets nearby the site obstructing the delivery of the building materials, and the biggest challenge to enable special installations and a beam system for the Olympic pool. On the other hand, the advantages were, the availability of about 2,000 sqm., and the availability of a high power electrical system and medicinal air from the existing Hospital.
