Hanging Gardens Tower

This design is based off the hanging gardens of Babylon and while admittingly its main purpose is beauty the design also features a cost effective cooling system. Now to describe the cooling system I am going to have to go into a bit of obscure history but I do have a point so bear with me. In 1928 an idea was proposed for homes to have a rooftop lake to act as a type of free air conditioning system. Although it sounds absurd the theory behind it was sound the sun’s heat would be absorbed by the water and help to cool the house beneath. Of course the issues with this plan are obvious in the fact that people would have a lake on top of their homes. Since the concept was actually sound I believe it can be tweaked in order to be effective. Instead of a body of water on the roof there is instead in its place a layer of soil and plant life which will be kept watered so as to achieve the same effect as a body of water. As well I would like to propose a more efficient system for watering the plants and keeping the soil moist.
Sprinkler systems today are the most commonly used method of watering any type of plants. However, these have a tendency to waste water because they operate on a timer whether the soil needs moisture is required or not. A better system would be to integrate the Aqua Globe invention into a watering system as shown in the diagrams a reservoir will feed interlinked Aqua Globes that supply the soil with water only as the soil needs it. The water level sensor on the reservoir will dictate how much water in transferred into the water reservoir and therefore help preserve water and therefore save the company some money. The fluorescent dye is a novelty that would look nice; the non-toxic dye mixes with the water and theoretically as the plants take up the dyed water they glow in the dark. Like I said a novelty but the preservation of water is still a benefit.
