This new 68,000 square foot facility, to be located in the heart of the University of South Carolina campus, will work alongside the current Thompson Student Health Center as home to the University’s Student Health Services. The building, which is targeting high benchmarks for sustainability, will create a “campus center around wellness”, promoting healthy living and setting the bar for student health centers nationwide. The building will contain clinical and laboratory areas for a range of health services, as well as facilities for counseling, wellness and education, a retail pharmacy, and a number of public amenities to draw students into the building. The design is a collaboration between Quackenbush Architects + Planners and Perkins + Will.
