Kriya Space is a serene and peaceful location situated in the back of the Annamalaiyar temple, nestled at the foot of the Annamalai hill in Thiruvannamalai. The flat and green landscape offers a tranquil setting, making it an ideal spot for meditation and yoga practice, allowing individuals to connect with nature and themselves amidst the spiritual energy of the sacred temple.
the central core space serving as the focal point. The meditation space is surrounded by gathering spaces on either side, which offer views of the mountains. The front pavilion serves as a buffer between the meditation space and the rest of the building.
In addition to the meditation space, the building also includes rooms for short-term stays on either side of the gathering spaces. This suggests that the building may be designed to accommodate visitors who are staying for an extended period of time, perhaps for spiritual retreats or workshops.
The Central meditation space features a sloping roof constructed from a metal frame, topped with wooden slats and covered with thatch roof. The roof is designed to control the temperature and blend seamlessly with the local architectural style by incorporating traditional materials.
The introduction of skylights and curved walls creates a harmonious fusion of light and space. The streaks of light filtering through the skylights connect with the spiritual core, creating a sense of unity and balance. The curved walls, in turn, guide the eye towards the central idol, fostering a sense of contemplation and inner peace.
The entire structure is centered around the central idol, with the backdrop consisting of concentric metal rings made from different types of metals. This striking visual element creates a sense of harmony and balance, drawing the eye towards the focal point of the space
