The project involved designing a 1000-square-foot personal home, with a focus on incorporating local stone masonry techniques and a slate roof, while minimizing alterations to the existing terrace. The design was carefully crafted to maintain the site's natural integrity, ensuring that no trees were cut down. Working closely with skilled local masons was a rewarding experience, allowing for a harmonious fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern design. A key feature of the home is a southwest-facing bay window, which beautifully merges local architectural elements with contemporary aesthetics. In response to the region's fluctuating weather, the stone walls and natural plasters offer excellent thermal comfort, ensuring a cozy and energy-efficient living space for the occupants.
