Ceramic chair explores the role of material in a domestic setting
by using a playful and deceptive texture. It aims to challenge user expectations of furniture by
offering an interactive, functional form derived from sculptural principles. The form appears soft
and forgiving at first glance, yet to touch the surface is to be met with brittle extrusions. The
entire chair was built out of clay by hand and then fired in a kiln and glazed.
