The massing is inspired by an octopus nestled in a coral reef formation giving a nod to the surrounding ecosystem. Reefs provide shelter to many organisms in their asymmetrical geometry. An anatomy study of shells, squid, ocptuci and mollusks was performed to determine the forms. The twisting gesture of the building is derived from how plate corals grow and maximizes ocean front views. A speckled, semi-porous metal façade inspired from the freckles and fins of squid meanders throughout the reef shaped building. A lazy river flows throughout the site mimicking the movement of fish throughout reefs at the base of the building which changes in elevation like a moving squid.
