About

I am a NCARB certified registered architect with 17 years of experience, holding licenses in both Maryland and the District of Columbia. I studied abroad in Italy and have traveled extensively throughout Europe and North America. I am a confident form maker and focus my work on the development of the unfinished or open project. Most of my experience is in residential, office space and retail design. I enjoy working with my hands, can weld, have laid brick and have extensive experience in all aspects of carpentry which helps in construction administration. It also makes me good at translating design sketches into detailed construction drawings. I am passionate about progressive adaptive reuse of old structures, and working within the context of our built history.

Education

Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, US, BArch, Architecture

I studied under those who collaborated with the masters of the 20th century. I participated in the study abroad program in Rome and gained a thorough understanding of the greater context of architectural history, and how certain structures stand up to the test of time. As a result my background is creative and cultural rather than technical, I have developed somewhat of a specialty in design development, and would gladly work as a consultant in that aspect alone. I am an expert model builder and sketch artist and consider that an essential part of my unique design process.
