As the old adage goes, ‘seeing is believing’, and this was the driver behind this project.
The homeowners had previously enlisted another architect to draw their house plans but they were having problems visualising their dream. Having already laid the foundations, I was asked to create 3D visualisations from their existing plans to help them to visualise their unbuilt house and what it could become.
In consultation with the homeowners, I chose materials and finishes that reflected their need to have a home with spaces reflecting a natural and light interior. They wanted to use natural tones throughout the house; wooden floors to suit life in a warmer climate and curtains and blinds that would let in the most light.
Images of the completed house enabled the clients to see what their house could look like when it was finished, both in the daytime and at night. They were also given perspectives of the main spaces along with views showing how rooms connected to each other. I selected simple but aesthetically pleasing furniture and positioned items to emphasise the size of each room whilst highlighting the possibilities.
The images that were created gave the homeowners a clear vision of their newly designed home’s potential. Including factors personal to them not only gave the visualisations life but helped them to see themselves in their own home. It was a successful endeavour.
