The Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Hospital project consists of two new hospitals, with a total project value of £32 million. The larger of the two buildings, built on Providenciales island has a floor area of 8347m² and the smaller, built on Grand Turk island, an area of 5792m². Both hospitals contain a full range of facilities including operating theatres, x-ray, A&E department, rehabilitation, pharmacy as well as an outpatient department with specialist clinics.
Although located in the Caribbean, the hospitals were designed to UK NHS standards (using HTM). They also take into account special climatic conditions for the region, including hurricane resistant design.
