RFA designed a retirement retreat with main house, guesthouse & shop/studio on an 8 A. wooded site within Whitehawk Ranch, just southeast of Quincy, CA, in the high Sierras of Northern CA. The curved plan of the 4500 SF main house naturally sets into the sloped landscape optimizing mountain views and provides:
• grand 2 story high great room and den,
• 2nd floor artist’s loft studio overlooking the gallery & great room,
• central curved gallery with contemporary steel & reclaimed log columns,
• Natural cedar siding & custom copper roof,
• Limestone floors with radiant heating,
• Optimal daylight & cross ventilation,
• Optimal view terraces for outdoor living.
