57 Blecker homes NYU’s International Students in an effort to create a stable, comfortable environment within the dynamic city-scape of Manhattan. Each micro-unit let’s each student have a place to themselves, that also creates a modular facade created by the structure. Community areas and larger spaces for lectures and tutoring help unify the residents. With 57 Blecker sitting directly next to Louis Sullivan’s only skyscraper in New York, it was vital to take the characteristics of the building without overpowering it’s beauty.
