The three-year degree program will be completed in May 2013. Cornell's accredited LA program includes courses in site engineering and grading, construction documentation, plant identification, theory, and studios. Additionally, I have concentrated in urban ecology by taking classes in the Department of Natural Resources and the School of Architecture. I chose to complete a thesis for my graduation requirement. My thesis project deals with flood adaptation for Roosevelt Island in New York City.

National Garden Club Scholarship, Award
The scholarship offers financial aid to students majoring in fields of study related to horticulture and the environment. Applicant must be planning a career related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design or horticulture. Thirty-five advanced annual scholarships were awarded in 2011.
E. Gorton Davis Travel Fellowship, Grant
Awarded by the Cornell Landscape Architecture Department. Grant funding supported an educational trip to China and my student team's submission and acceptance into the International Horticultural Exposition in Xi'An.
Truman Scholarship, Other
The Harry S. Truman Fellowship recognizes college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in the public service. The Truman is a competitive national scholarship that requires selection by the university representative prior to submission to be considered for the finalist round. All finalist travel to NYC to interview with successful former Truman Scholars. I was a finalist for the award.
