Working past 2 years from feasibility through design development into production. Primary responsibilities coordinating all the trades and internal groups as well as manage and maintain Revit and Maya models, take lead of documentation and manage the team for producing the project’s documentation deliverable. This has also included travel to Japan to coordinate with and meet with the client to review the final deliverable and discuss coordination issues.

Additional responsibilities at Disney include participating in the development and update of their Revit standards. This includes weekly meetings, developing and testing various aspects of the standard and providing input. Prior to Disney Richard worked at AECOM on projects that ranged from large master plans, mixed use developments, transportation, institution, civic, commercial and entertainment. Also over the years he has tended to take on building and developing standards, work flows as well as instructing/ teaching when needed to help build the team skills to better aid projects. All his practical experience over the years include fabrication, building, modeling, drawing through various software and experience in the field have aided me to develop a unique skill set that will be a great value to the team and projects.

School Years
Richard graduated with distinction from SCI-Arc, Southern California Institute of Architecture, with a Professional Bachelors Degree of Architecture.

For the year before prior to his thesis he worked as the Project Architect on the SCI-Arc Caltech Solar Decathlon team. He lead various designs proposals and was key to the development of various aspects of the project. One of which was the design of the exterior skin structure and the production of a full scale mock-up to test the design.

In the summer of 2011 Richard worked at Oyler Wu Collaborative. The first two months he worked closely with Dwayne Oyler developing one of three schemes for a residential tower proposal in Taipei. This consisted of development and production of presentation drawings and images. His scheme was favored and chosen by the client and went into construction documents; it is currently going into construction. The last two months of the summer he was instrumental in the steel fabrication on the SCI-Arc graduation pavilion. 11 hour days cutting steel precisely, assembling, painting, rope knitting and installing. He was charged with training proper technique when required and developed time saving methods during production.

In Richard's early days at SCI-Arc he work under Gary Paige conducting research that varied from graphic techniques, developing study models, documenting urban and building typologies. Some of this work eventually be incorporated into the LA Forum for Arch & Design Dingbat 2.0 Competition and would win a 2nd place.
