Reincarnations of radical nationalisms, militarization, and personal tragedies of a great part of the Earth’s population charge current geopolitical dispositions.
The aspiration of this publication is to survey the evolution of architecture in East Germany 1945–1990, from postwar rehabilitation efforts to last socialist projects and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Twentieth-century annals are attended and the landscapes of the homeland of Marxism are featured through the sharp lens of rebuilding of environments wrecked by nazi war which physically, morally, and spiritually coded the skylines of East German socialist utopia. Primary purpose of the book is to stand out as a proactive humane response to devastation inflicted by warfare across continents where targeted destruction bears striking resemblance to gruesome footprint of World War Two.
