This project hybridized different furniture types in order to hypothesize on a new type. Chair-ness and stair-ness were fused to create enclosed and open conditions within the same piece of furniture.

The form was generated digitally using the animation capabilities of 3DS Max. rectangular pixels were slid from side to side across a path to create variable yet continuous physical conditions.

The 1:12 scale model was made from 1/8" plywood cut on a laser cutting machine.
