I am an architect with extensive experience in various scale projects which range in size from large mixed use towers to intricate contemporary residences. These include some very complex residential, institutional and commercial projects which have had many consultants and large user based committees driving programmatic challenges. I have worked for and participated on designs and master plans with talented designers and accomplished practices. As the lead project architect I have taken projects from conceptual ideas to final products. During these projects I have often been the prime liaison between the principals and the owners, developers and departmental chairs. As the manager of the design teams I have overseen and delegated work to large teams of varied skill sets.
My attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills ensure that every project I work on is done accurately and to the highest possible standard. I am comfortable working as part of a team but also have the ability to take an authoritative role when the situation arises. My verbal communication skills and positive attitude make me an effective communicator with all clients, consultants and staff I work with.
Over the years I have developed a keen aesthetic sensibility which has been informed by built work. I communicate through hand sketches which I use in combination with Revit, Rhino and AutoCAD developing the designs through construction. The focus of my career has been on the integration of digital processes in the representation and production of design. In my recent assignment with the Queen Anne Academic Center, a $75M Arts complex for Music and Theater, I created the team’s work plan for offices on both coasts based on the initial concept models. This was continually updated to reflect the construction budget challenges, for the team, as the project evolved. My prior experience in teaching has allowed me to become a mentor for the younger architects and I have been a participant and presenter for the firms I have been with. The last 3 projects I have worked on were LEED Silver and I am pursuing my LEED AP credentials.
