About

Dear Empolyers,

I'm currently enrolled in Ms. AAD program of architecture school in Columbia University. And I had bachelor degree of architecture in University of Miami and minored ART. I had three architecture internships. One is working on housing project in Florez Lopez Architects. One is about student apartment project in Shandong Jianzhu Design Institute. And, another one is about research project in Haiti Initiative in-house charrette team.

I mainly use Rhino, Python and Grasshopper to build model and do rendering with 3d Max. I also use Photoshop, Ai and Indesign. I know and used revit for one semester studio.

I have a F1 visa which allows me to work 20 hours a week. I could work entire days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. I would like to look for an unpaid part-time internship to practice myself.

The following pages show all my information and materials including cover letter, resume and portfolio. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks a lot for your time,

Best,

Xiaoyu,

Education

Columbia University, New York, NY, US, MArch, Ms. AAD

I already had the first semester in this summer. I am doing my second one now. Studying in Columbia University is very exciting and has a lot diversities. The direction of studio is opening to all possibilities. The city and the school open my mind and give me strong support to study the coding and programming part in architecture, which the technology and knowledge support cannot find in other places. Students work as a team in studio, which offers me amount of opportunities to learn from others. I don't only learn from Professors in this school.

University of Miami, Miami, FL, US, BArch, Undergraduate Architecture School

The architecture study in University of Miami is regarded as classical and traditional teaching. However, the school did a lot of efforts to change its image. I had a professor who was teaching in MIT taught me programming and coding. Our dean of architecture school is also focusing on artificial lighting programming in architecture. I learned a lot in that school.
