Fall Lecture with MoDusArchitects: Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol

Tue, Nov 1 '16
Los Angeles, CA, US

Join us on Tuesday, November 1 at 6:30pm for a lecture with Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol of MoDusArchitects in our Fall Lecture Series at Woodbury University Burbank.

Dual Identities

The lecture interweaves the lives and work of Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol to narrate a heterogeneous and hard-to-pin-down body of work.  The projects range in scope from infrastructural interventions to high-end single family houses, from schools to hospitals, all the way up to high altitude mountain lodges.  Together these projects speak about MoDusArchitects’ interest in drawing out architecture’s capacity to be both expressive and transformative.

Learning Objectives

1. uncovering how the use of materials and well-crafted construction techniques can bridge the divide between tradition and innovation through the lens of a number of unique projects designed in Northern Italy
2. examining the relationship between architecture and infrastructure in the built environment
3. exploring the positive impact architects and architecture can have in building community consensus for the planning of public buildings
3. recognizing architecture’s contribution to current trends in education and the design of innovative learning spaces

The lecture will take place in Ahmanson.

The School of Architecture at Woodbury University is an AIA CES Continuing Education Provider.
