Extension for the Alvar Aalto Museum and the Museum of Central Finland

This project aims to create both a closed gateway between the Museum of Central Finland and the Alvar Aalto Museum, as well as a gathering place for visitors inside and outside these buildings.

The external stairs are designed to be  used as an entrance and external foyer to the Museum of Central Finland, and also as a connection (a bridge) to several sections of the Russupuisto Park.

Their particular shape as two amphitheaters creates a special area for entertainment and performances. 
Underneath the stairs there is ample storage space, for easy access to the exhibition material.
