Lawrenceville Kirby Math and Science Building

New Jersey is home to The Lawrenceville School; an independent day and boarding school for grades 9 through twelve, whose academic rigor and American Gothic architecture were inspired by the New England preparatory school. Landscape planner Frederick Law Olmstead designed the picturesque in1883.

The picturesque campus was designed by The project, dedicated October 6, 2016 is a two-story, 14,000 square foot addition to the 42,000 square foot Kirby Science Center, designed in 2002. The new addition displaces the one-story, circa1960’s Corby Math building. The School and donors reflected on the opportunity to create a seamless architecture that would unify the campus and equally, cross-pollinate disciplines.  The Math faculty was ecstatic with the larger, mediated classroom and copious amounts of natural light.
