To whom it may concern,
Architecture is my passion. It is my passion, and it undoubtedly and unreservedly defines myself and guides my ambitions. The attraction that I sustain towards architecture derives itself from a few key aspects that exist within the discipline. They are as follows:
- The Architectural discipline requires one to examine and experiment with the essential qualities of existence, not just the need for shelter, but the evolution of culture and the experiential/emotional makings of humanity.
- Architecture maintains the ability to draw upon all other disciplines and areas of life. Each project represents a unique set and portion of variables that are to be considered by the Architect.
- Architecture literally shapes our world, inspires us, and can be a source of positive change.
Throughout the past decade I have directed myself along a clear path towards my architectural career. Receiving a degree in Fine Art from Cal Poly Pomona has allowed me to seek out my artistic talents and to experience a wide variety of cultures and modes of creativity. At the Southern California Institute of Architecture where I studied for my Masters, I was given the opportunity to develop my architectural sophistication. Sci-Arc has given me not only the necessary skills to excel, but has allowed me to pursue my own personal architectural goals. This is illustrated by my involvement in the Solar Decathlon project, where I was able to not only work on research and development of the design, but also to manage and direct the implementation of valuable ideas and technologies surrounding the ethos of sustainability and efficiency. Professionally, I have accumulated 2-3 years working in architectural design and five years working in building contracting and construction. These opportunities have yielded an in-depth knowledge of every phase of the architectural process as well as the process of client/official relations. I am a determined, multi-faceted individual with a sharp sense for detail and three-dimensional space. I have a strong love of the natural world, and have spent ample amounts of energy and time learning all that I can about humanity, art, and the environment in which we live.
In addition, I maintain the skills to lead and manage personnel as well as the ability to work within a team and under direction. I am creative, highly self-motivated and result-driven. I possess strong time management and problem resolution skills, and I am willing to go above and beyond to meet and exceed goals. Lastly, I have acquired a solid knowledge of the industry, and continuously try to learn more about the ever-changing market, its patrons, and creative ways to respond to those changes.
Sincerely,
Scott John Davis

Produced master plans, schematic designs and construction documents for various large scale projects. Projects included developing a schematic design set for a tourist city of 54,000 for the provincial government of Yanjin. The set contained master plan drawings and documents; architectural design drawings for residential units, commercial buildings, civic buildings and schools; and engineering drawings and documents. 3D models were produced in Rhino and the schematic design sets were produce with AutoCAD 2012.
