To whom it may concern,
Architecture is my passion and it defines myself and guides my ambitions.
Throughout the past decade I have directed myself along a clear path towards my architectural career. Receiving a degree in Fine Art from Cal Poly Pomona has allowed me to seek out my artistic talents and to experience a wide variety of cultures and modes of creativity. At the Southern California Institute of Architecture where I studied for my Masters, I was given the opportunity to cultivate the majority of my architectural experience. Sci-Arc has given me not only the necessary skills to excel, but has allowed me to pursue my own personal architectural goals as illustrated by my involvement in the Solar Decathlon project, where I was able to not only work on research and development of the design, but also to manage and direct the implementation of valuable ideas and technologies surrounding the ethos of sustainability and efficiency.
Professionally, I have accumulated 5+ years working in construction on residential and small commercial buildings. This opportunity has yielded an in-depth knowledge of the construction side of architecture as well as the process of client/official relations. On top of my construction experience I have 2+ years of office experience working on a variety of projects including but not limited to master planning and museum design. My most recent project and position was site manager for the interactive exhibits and interiors of the Kahramaa Awareness Park in Doha, Qatar. During this time I lived in Doha and was my company’s representative and local manager from the DD phase through the start of installation of our design build contract. Because one of my goals is to become a licensed Architect in California, I have completed my IDP hours and I am currently starting the ARE series.
Additionally, I maintain the skills to lead and manage personnel as well as the ability to work within a team and under direction. I am creative and highly self-motivated. I possess strong time management and problem resolution skills, and I am willing to go above and beyond to meet and exceed goals. Lastly, I have acquired a solid knowledge of the industry, and continuously try to learn more about the ever-changing market, its patrons, and creative ways to respond to those changes.
