UCLA A.UD Summer Programs will provide unique opportunities for college students, professionals, and high school students to explore architecture and design with cutting-edge designers and practitioners, to learn and use the most dynamic software, work with fellow colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds, and to experience summer in Los Angeles on the UCLA campus.

JumpStart: June 24 -  August 2, 2013
Open to prospective and current undergraduate and graduate students and working professionals.
Registration is now open

Six-week program exploring architectural education for individuals contemplating careers in architecture, design and related fields. The program is structured around the experience of a design studio typically offered within the curricula of graduate programs. Intensive design exercises using the latest computer aided techniques in 3D modeling lead to complex and sophisticated architectural projects that ultimately conform a robust basis for applications to graduate programs.

The UCLA A.UD SUMMER Jumpstart Program is open to prospective and current undergraduate and graduate students, and working professionals. This program is an intensive, full-time summer architecture experience. Before enrolling in the program, you should be fully aware of the time commitment and course workload inherent in a program of this nature.

WorkShops: August - September 2013
Open to all individuals interested in learning and further developing digital design skills.
Registration is now open

Four to six session courses on digital tools for beginning, intermediate and advanced students and professionals. These workshops are ideal for individuals who want to develop skills in design, architecture, and other related fields as well as for those who already have experience and want to develop it further.

Access to UCLA’s well-known digital and fabrication facilities and instruction through rigorous and effective teaching techniques make these workshops both unique and rare. They cover topics in advanced software, portfolio preparation, furniture making and digital fabrication machinery, essential for materializing the complex forms found in many digital projects.

All workshops take place in the computer lab at Perloff Hall. Students can use the Department’s computers but are welcome to bring their own laptops if all software is previously installed.

Teen ArchStudio: July 22 – August 2, 2013
Open to current high school students.
Registration is now open

The UCLA A.UD SUMMER Teen ArchStudio program is open to current high school students, from incoming junior students to graduating senior students with instructor consent. Student selection is based on a brief questionnaire and personal statement. This program is an intensive, two-week full-time summer architecture experience. Before enrolling in the program, you should be fully aware of the time commitment and course workload inherent in a program of this nature. This non-residential program exposes high school students to the architecture discipline, giving them a sense of the life of a college student and the chance to experience the profession through the design of a project, fieldtrips to landmark buildings and Los Angeles architectural offices.
