The undergraduate program at SCI-Arc supports and values thesis as an opportunity for students to both synthesize their undergraduate work over the part five years, and to also aim beyond that base of knowledge towards new propositions. It serves as a conceptual jumping-off point for them, as they prepare to graduate and engage in the field of architecture.
Graduating students will go head-to-head in reviews with renowned visiting critics such as Jeffrey Kipnis, Neil Denari, Nanako Umemoto, Craig Hodgetts, David Erdman, Peter Trummer, David Ruy, Francisco Pardo, Liam Young, Bill Fain, Barbara Bestor and Thom Mayne, the latter serving as special thesis advisor to the graduating class.
Opening on April 25th, 5pm, the 9th annual Spring Show exhibition follows thesis presentations with a curated display of some of the best student projects from undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate design studios, as well as coursework from the applied, cultural and visual studies seminars.
