Shahjalal University of Science and Technology also known as SUST is a state supported, public research university located in Sylhet, Bangladesh. It is the 8th oldest university in Bangladesh and the first university to adopt American credit system in the country. It is also the Flagship University of the "Science & Technology University System" of Bangladesh.

SUST is the 3rd oldest public university in Bangladesh to have an architecture discipline. Currently, it only offers a five years long bachelor degree, where courses are designed in such a way so that students graduating from this department have a balance of theory and practical skills to prepare themselves for the highly competitive multidisciplinary workplace in the country and beyond. Academics and students are participating in activities of international architectural organizations like ARCASIA, CAA and others.
