About

David Applebaum creates beautiful works of architecture that are an expression of the life and taste of each client. Indeed, every commission is a uniquely choreographed blend of the client’s dreams, the setting’s personality and the architect’s insight.

I havetaken direct charge of each project, bringing my experience and vision to the entire design and building process in both historical and modern designs.

Clients include Cuba Gooding Jr., Diane Keaton, Frank Sinatra, Rupert Murdoch, Brad Grey, Bob Hope, Manfred Simchowitz, and Jeff Ayeroff for residential work and Quincy Jones, Esprit and Virgin Records for commercial work.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University in 1980 and a Master of Architecture from UCLA in 1984, where I was awarded Best Thesis Project. I first established my credentials and reputation for excellence at the architectural offices of Edward Grenzbach in Los Angeles, Franklin Israel in Los Angeles and Joseph D’Urso in New York City and have been licensed to practice Architecture in the State of California since 1990.
