As the Project Manager at VBN Architects, Gregory led design and production services including coordination for this Design-Build Infill Station on an (E) BART Line. Construction of the West Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station was further complicated by its location in the median of (E) freeway 580. The station was not affordable when the original line was constructed, however the original project did provide adequate infrastructure, including foundation piles for the inclusion of the station at a later date. It was one of BART’s first Public-Private Partnerships which provided funding from both venues. Access to the station is via 2 pedestrian bridges over the 580 freeway, 1 going south to Pleasanton, CA & the other going north to Dublin, CA. The station concourse is elevated over the platform & tracks. Freeway noise & Fire Life Safety were of particular concern when designing access & egress, selecting building materials as well as exterior skin design.
