AN EXPERIMENT FOR MILLENNIAL LIVING: WEST-END ATLANTA SOCIAL HOUSING

My thesis aimed to investigate the changing conditions occurring in society today and how architecture has the potential to respond to the conditions of millennial interactions and programmatic needs in a city environment of the future. 

West-End Social housing is for millennials who are newly graduates, who have suffered the debt of student loans. They can acquire the units until they are stable enough to make it on their own. What existed before this design was an abandoned old farmers market on an industrial lot. The reuse of industrial materials were implemented to achieve the desire of affordability. The main idea of this design is to create amenities that would fit the needs and wants of millennials such as; work space, garden space, daycare center and maker space.
