The building is designed as a lighthouse, at the end of the Metro line, giving a qualitative feel to this North-Eastern railway area of Paris.

The concept is to «phagocytize» the old gym to create a new single volume as a visible vertical signal composed of the existing building and the new extension.

A suspended box lies over the existing gym supported by a metal gallery that spans the old structure. The old gym becomes the changing room and the new gym is located in the scenic crossing space open at 180 degrees on the landscape. An expanded metal skin fully covers the two overlying volumes, which become one.
