I'm an architectural designer with five years of experience in both large corporate offices and small boutique firms. I am particuarly interested in the ecology of cites- how culture, infrastructure, natural phenomena, and architecture interact. I am currently working as an intern/vacationing tourist in Mexico City and looking for work in US and other places abroad.
Alec's Travel Blog on Archinect:
I am an intern working for Tatiana Bilbao's office to supplement my architecture and urban tourism addiction. This blog will focus on my free time, which I mostly spend trying to get to grip on the astounding breadth and depth of the city via museums, taco stalls, parks, forgotten monuments, obscure corners, public space, and avoiding death by cars, death cults, muggings, volcanoes, and taco stalls.
Tatiana Bilbao S.C., Ciudad de México, MX, el superpracticante
Somewhere between an intern and a design architect. Construction drawings, physical models, renderings, and illustrative graphics and diagrams. I'd answer phones too, if my Spanish were better.
Wilson Architects, Boston, MA, US, concept model maker
Working closely with the design team, I made working models from a variety of materials and at a variety of scales to investigate and test various design proposals.
DWL Architects + Planners, Inc., Phoenix, AZ, US, Job Captain
Job captain is kind of a catch-all position depending on the scale of the project. For small projects, this can mean every role in the project from details to client meetings. For the most part, I worked under the project architect to draft, design, work with consultants, present ideas to the client, etc.
