I am a 2008 graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.Arch. I also have a degree in English Literature from Mississippi College. I have two years of internship experience at two architecture firms. I co-oped at a firm in Columbus, MS before graduating, and then worked for a firm in Knoxville, TN afterwards.
Unfortunately, I was laid off in January of 2009 and have been seeking an architecture position since. I have been fortunate to find a job as a carpenter for a custom home builder in my hometown for the last two and half years. This has been a great experience for me, as it has allowed me to stay within the construction industry and gain very valuable experience. I feel this will make me a much better architect one day. I am also actively working on the A.R.E. and I have completed 3 of the 7 exams. I am trying to make sure I know the material very well before I take the exams, and not hope I know just enough to pass.
On a personal note, I am a very active individual. I am an avid cyclist and enjoy being outdoors. I am active in my community through my church and various other groups. I try to live my life as well as I can.
