About

I am an architect licensed in California and Hawaii with over 15 years of experience in the profession. I have worked on designing and detailing a wide variety of projects from small to grand scale, using many methods of construction from type I to type V and everything in between. I have seasoned my design skills on both team and solo projects. I have experience managing clients, junior architectural designers, design consultants, construction managers and construction inspectors. Besides being thoroughly skilled at hand drafting, I have extensive experience with a wide variety of computer software including BIM. Websites of my work are located at http://spacecraft.net/ and http://jessevalentineportz.com/. You may see samples of my extensive computer rendering experience at http://www.spacecraft.net/pro.html. I have a portfolio of my student work at http://www.spacecraft.net/cca.html.

For many years I have been a project architect doing both design and drawing production. I have experience doing feasibility studies, code-compliance and constructibility reviews, construction cost estimates and specification writing. In addition to my strong design skills, I have experience as both a project manager and a construction manager so I can make sure the project is both well designed and on schedule. I am a LEED accredited professional and am committed to green design and construction as a sensible way to improve our environment. I also believe that the greenest design is that which is so beautiful that it will delight its users for generations, and will withstand the test of time pragmatically and functionally.
