My career has led me to deal and obtain experience in both, Architectural Design and Building Construction with proven leadership ability, managing multiple engineers.

 

Working mostly in contract jobs, gave me a wide range of expertise, from Housing and Chain Retail Shops to big projects like Concert Halls and Airport Buildings.

 

Multilingual capabilities and good interpersonal skills helped me work comfortably in International environments, working with Italian, American, UK and Greek companies in different countries and gaining significant project experience.

Working on a LUXURY HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTER in Henbury Manor,Elham,Kent and a LUXURY BOUTIQUE HOTEL in Rhodes island, Greece.
Reports to the Principal. . Feasibility study. Assist in site selection and evaluation.
Prepare preliminary construction and related cost estimate. Creating schedules and watching the budget. Responsible for designing and managing the development of the project from inception to completion.

First appointed for the ZAHA HADID CONFERENCE HALL in Tripoli Libya.
Due to delay of the project, I was placed in Misurata for the THREE UNIVERSITIES PROJECT:
The 7TH of October University Complex in Misurata, the Al-Marghib University Complex in Tarhuna and the Al-Marghib University Complex in Zliten, all in Libya.
Total area 250.000 sq.m. Total Budget 400.000.000 Euros.
Designers:
Misurata Complex : IDOM (Spain).
Tarhuna and Zliten complex: Keppie Design Ltd/Buro Happold (United Kingdom),
Execution of design activities according to RIBA Outline Plan of work 2007.
Design Project Management : HILL International (United Kingdom).
Documents and drawings issued via ACONEX.
Reports to : Technical Manager and Project manager. Replaces Technical Manager when absent.
Organizes the work in Technical Office through the Architectural and Structural Design Leaders which report directly to the Technical Office Responsible.
Managing more than eight engineers, verifies the construction drawings prepared by design consultants, gives instructions to prepare shop drawings for permanent works on the basis of the approved construction drawings and gives technical support to the production sectors.

Phase I
Working for the CP11 CARGO TERMINAL COMPLEX 800m$, 48.000 sq.m. with 15m clearance is among the 20 largest in the world,(subdivided in Cargo Terminal, Cargo Agent, Live Animal Center, Landside Cargo Dock Security Stations & Landside Processing Office, Pedestrian Entry Security Station and Security Exit Station), and for the two EMIRI HANGARS : HANGAR A (3 planes) and HANGAR B (4 planes) for the Emiri of the State of Qatar.
Reports to Design Manager replacing him when absent. Participating in all project meetings.
Coordinates with the Construction and MEP Head for technical issues. Managing one Junior Architect. Monitor status of the quality, the technical accuracy and the timely preparation of all Design Development for all buildings before they Submitted to OBI (Overseas Bechtel Incorporated).

Phase II
Preparing Architectural Shop Drawings for CP26 AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE HANGAR of the new A380-800 AIRBUS, 1.2b$, 93.000 sq.m., overall length 500 m, width 187 m and hight 45 m (known as largest Aircraft Maintenance Hangar in the world, able to service six A380-800 superjumbos simultaneously), plus the CENTRAL UTILITY PLANTS 230m$, HAZARDOUS BUILDING and EAST & WEST CHECKPOINT BUILDINGS.
Reports to Project manager and Technical Office Manager replacing him when absent.
Responsible for organizing and managing the Architectural Team (1 Senior and 3 Junior
Architects), and assisting them preparing the Shop Drawings.
Coordinates with the Designer, Construction Department and MEP manager.
Monitor status of quality, technical accuracy and timely preparation of all Architectural
Shop Drawings for all buildings before they are Submitted to OBI (Bechtel).

Internal arrangement of the rooms for the NEW CHANDRIS BOUTIQUE HOTEL and ASTERAS VOULIAGMENIS BUNGALOWS in Athens, Greece (Both 5 star Luxury Hotels).
Reports to MOLTENI and C Project Manager.
Duties: Supervising the job in a daily basis and responsible for the coordination with the Construction Company, the Client Architect and the Subcontractor. Finding appropriate solutions for Consultants when problems arise, and keep work moving.

Responsible for the Architectural Shop Drawings of the New Athens Concert Hall ( total budget 265 million Euros) and specifically for the Large Multiple Use Hall (1600 seats) which will be used also as an Opera and the Small Multiple Use Hall (400 seats), total budget 20 million Euros. Coordinating with subcontractors and client Architect. During construction liaising with the other contractors and managing to resolve possible conflicts in time. Responsible for the As-built drawings.
