University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, US, MArch, architecture
The Michigan Architecture Program has given me comprehensive training in both architecture design theory and practice. I have good standing in my academic curriculum and particularly in design studios, selected as the representative of Annual Student Exhibition in 2011 and 2012. Michigan is very strong in computational design and digital fabrication; I took most of these courses and my thesis is about parametric urbanism. Working as a teaching assistant in the Digital Fabrication Lab, I am familiar with how to use the tools and machines. In addition, my vision has been broadened through a wide variety of courses in environmental engineering, urban planning and real estate development disciplines. I have gone through some courses and workshop about sustainable design and I am preparing myself for the LEED AP now.
Peking University, Beijing, CN, Bachelors, mathematics, Yuanpei College
I am very proud of studying 3 years mathematics in Peking University, whose mathematics department is among the best of the world. First of all, I think I got much smarter and more logical thinking. Instead of being taught what to learn, I was taught how to learn quickly and well. Therefore I am never afraid or hesitated to touch new stuff and skills, but I do enjoy the learning process. Second, I was trained well with computational scripting and geometrical operation, which helps me to explore architecture later.
