My educational background in Detroit, which emphasized awareness in and revitalizing failing urban communities, along with the sustainability and historic preservation research internship I experienced while living in Boston, has broadened my spectrum of what it means to create meaningful, effective, and timeless design. That interest propels my desire to constantly learn more about innovative technologies in design; not limited to just buildings. I love and respect great design in architecture, furniture, clothing and art.
Eager to stay busy, I’ve kept my design eye open by working wherever I can expand my skillset from simple AutoCAD drafting to gaining experience in an interior design office. Recent projects I have been part of focus on adaptive reuse, structural expression and ecologically smart construction. I also participated in the 2012 Dwell on Design convention with my summer internship at Built, a design/build firm in Silver Lake, CA.
Through my previous work experiences, as well as other personal practices, I am confident that I can meet the expectations and skills necessary to be accepted at your firm. I have a high attention for detail and excel in both problem solving and design-oriented tasks. I have extensive knowledge in programs such as most Adobe design programs, AutoDesk VIZ(Max), Sketchup Pro and AutoCAD. My writing and presentational skills are exceptional as well. I work well in group settings cooperating among a team and can successfully administer as a leader when needed while bringing a positive and self-driven attitude to every task I am given. I absolutely love working with others, be it customers or my fellow employees.
