About

Bio

Reginald’s love affair with Architecture began as a young boy.  Growing up in the hills of Delmas, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti; he often took to drawing and constructing small scale model houses.  With the use of a ruler, scissors, cardstock folders from his mother’s home office, some Elmer’s glue, and Gillette razors for smaller detailed cut outs; Reginald would often spend hours in his room, creating various buildings for his “village”.

As a Haitian native, Reginald is dedicated to the pursuit of environmental design strategies and implementation; which he understands to be a  matter of necessity in many parts of the world, and more so in developing countries.  in 2003, Reginald received his Bachelor of Design degree from Florida International University, where he developed a strong foundation and passion  for design. His formative experience in Architecture begin immediately after graduation, working mainly in producing construction documents for Axioma 3 Architects, in Miami.  In the summer of 2004, after a short visit to Chicago, he made the decision to relocate, and secured a position with one of the nation’s leading Architecture and Environmental practice, Perkins and Will.

It is in Chicago that Reginald’s career and passion truly developed.  As a young Designer at Perkin and Will, he became exposed to a variety of project types both nationally and internationally.  Chicago’s rich historical architectural precedents  also provided the perfect setting for him to truly grasp Architecture’s engagement with the City, and in turn formulate and develop his theoretical baseline.  Outside of the office, Reginald sharpened his skills by engaging in competitions and pursuing independent design work.  In the summer of 2007, he left Perkins and Will to pursue his Master’s degree in Architecture at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, while also working briefly at Johnson and Lee Architects.

In 2009 Reginald was awarded with a Master’s degree from UC Berkeley, and relocated to Miami soon after, to work with Zyscovich Architects.  Today, he continues to remain active in the educational community by volunteering as guest critique during design reviews, while also engaging in community activities.  .  Reginald is  a charismatic and progressive Designer, with a commitment to community involvement, sociocultural awareness, and environmental values; but most importantly, he is driven.
