About

I am currently working at James Carpenter Design Associates in New York City, having been awarded the Argo Global Grant promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Education. I am finishing my period at JCDA on June 15th. Nevertheless I am a J1 Visa holder till March 2013.

At JCDA I am broadening my architectural horizons specializing in architectural and structural glass design. In our studio Art and Architecture are progressively synthesized through theoretical, aesthetic and industrial materials research, goal that we are pursuing at our winning Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Museum, project I am working on in St Louis. In the design process of our extension of the original Eero Saarinen Gateway Arc Scheme, we are developing a wide range of strategies in the conception of a environmentally intelligent building while dealing with other professionals as structural engineering’s, landscape and local architects, museums specialists,… facilitating the exchange of ideas that enriches enormously the project. To be part of the JCDA team is an invaluable professional experience that gives me the opportunity to broaden my horizons to the American Architectural Culture.

My academic experience has been enriched from a variety of academic design tutors, both in Madrid and Paris, where I studied architecture at L’École d’Architecture à Paris Belleville for a year, awarded with an Erasmus scholarship, and from the variety of design methodologies within the offices I’ve worked in Madrid, London and New York. In London I completed a year’s employment at CRABstudio and four months’ full-time employment at Aedas Ltd, having worked on a numerous range of projects that ranged from large scale public schemes to villa extensions. Have worked with Professor Sir Peter Cook at CRABstudio was an invaluable architecture experience as was the responsibility of running the practice’s projects and taking the role of Studio Manager. At the Madrid’s Herzog & de Meuron Satellite Office, I worked on the new Madrid BBVA Headquarters. Working in a big practice as Herzog & de Meuron or Aedas Ltd, has broadened my professional experience in a more practical way, dealing with contractors, different disciplines and professionals and working under a complex hierarchy structure.

At the begin of 2010 I got fully qualified in Architecture at the Madrid Higher Technical School of Architecture where I got a Distinction in Design for my project Cultural Centre Tower in Tetuán, Madrid. I also completed a Master’s Degree in Computer Graphic Design as related to architecture, design and multimedia presentations that has broadened my 3D modeling skills as part of the design and documentation process.

I believe myself to be an appropriately sociable and committed person with a solid academic and professional experience foundation. Furthermore, I consider having the uncommon combination of creative flair, personal enthusiasm, ambition and technical ability that would suit perfectly with the demanding and high standard of your practice. I am convinced that I could further develop my steep learning curve within an american company as would broaden my architecture design horizons whilst giving me the opportunity to get an acute understanding of various stages of a project development. I hope to be considered for an interview.

Education

Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM), Madrid, ES, BArch, Bachelor in Architecture

The "Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid" Bachelor Degree is built around an integrated sequence of Design Studios, Visual Studies, History and Theory, Construction and Structure, Media and Technology courses, into which interdisciplinary seminars in the Arts, Sciences, and Humanities are woven. After five years of study, I become actively engaged in the discussion of the practice of architecture and am prepared to join the workforce.

Cutting edge design units and tutors, as Juan Herreros, Alberto Campo Baeza, Mansilla+Tuñón or Andrés Perea, taught me the complex engagement of architecture from the questioning to the formulation of design strategies, as I developed for example in my fourth year project “Experimental party” where from a seemingly sterile reality I described a new potentially rich situation and brought architectonic opportunities out in the open.

Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM), Madrid, ES, MArch, Master's Degree in Computer Graphic Design related to Architecture

The "Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid" Computer Graphic Design Masters Degree is a rigorous, experimental post-professional degree program focused on data-based and physical investigations into the rapidly evolving fields of digital design.

At the moment, architecture digitization is at an exciting point as new technologies and concerns for sustainability and building performance come to the fore. This event has intrigued me from the very beginning I started university and inspired me to pursue a deeper knowledge of digitization in architecture as tool for analysis, design and experimenting. To achieve it, I completed a Master’s Degree in Computer Graphic Design, as related to architecture, design and multimedia presentations. As part of the design and documentation process, this postgraduate studies has broadened my 3D modeling skills, my parametrical designs and my computer architectural drawings.
