About

Employment

BLD.design, Brooklyn, NY, US, Sole Proprietor

I am operating as BLD.design, consulting for various architects on an approach that grows naturally from a quest and search for ideas and answers. I am working on several renovation/rehabilitation projects in South Street Seaport area that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy, a house in the Hampton Bays which is being elevated due to rising flood levels, and several high end residential renovations in Manhattan. While maintaining and enhancing my architectural knowledge, I also continue to work with various firms, producing 3d visualizations, helping to better communicate ideas to clients.

In my free time, I am studying for the Building Systems portion of the architectural registration exams in NYC. My goal is to be licensed in 2 years. I also enjoy “throwing” pottery. This allows me the ability to generate pure form, influenced directly through the forces of my hands in conjunction with centrifugal force. Unlike architecture, this allows you to create a "space" on the micro level using nothing but earth (clay) materials and pressures applied through the hands(fingers). I love the scale and malleability.
