About

Francesca Martin is a multidisciplinary artist & designer specializing in interior architecture. Her background consists of earning her BA in Fine Art and Art History from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. Upon earning her degree, she was asked to execute a commissioned piece for the University’s permanent collection. Shortly after completion, she went on to join the highly respected visual display team of the trend-setting retail company, Anthropologie. She quickly became a lead display coordinator to the high volume Los Angeles store locations.

In 2006, Francesca left Los Angeles to live and work in Italy where she assumed a position as an art instructor at Istituto Marymount, a bilingual school in the heart of Rome. She established and led the elementary school art program, educating over 200 children ages 6-10 on a weekly basis. While Ms. Martin found much satisfaction in teaching, she yearned to further her education in design. She returned to Los Angeles and enrolled in the California State Polytechnic University-Pomona / UCLA Master of Interior Architecture collaborative program. While immersed in her studies, she interned for Studio Alvarez where she contributed in the design development of a space for Nike. This lead to her taking on work as an independent contractor for the firm. In 2011, she graduated with honors.

Francesca believes strongly in the WE aspect of the design process- that all great design requires collaborative effort to reach its highest potential. Integrity, hard work and perseverance are values that she lives and works by and strives to surround herself with those that embrace the same mantra. Francesca is a highly dedicated, detail-oriented professional with experience in project management, FF&E specifications, construction administration, interfacing with architects, contractors and vendors. In addition, she possesses excellent client relationship skills.

Whether it be working towards executing a project for a client or entertaining friends, incorporating design into her daily life has always been inherently and undeniably a part of who she is. She approaches every project large and small in the same manner; taking into consideration context, budget, timeframe and always aiming to build a clear and impactful narrative that carries a distinct voice for her clients. Education both academic and field-related, paired with her experiences of living, working and traveling abroad, have proven to be invaluable tools for her practice.

Francesca is a past Student Board member, now Allied Member of American Society for Interior Designers.
