As a GSR, I worked under Professor Jason Corburn to create GIS maps for the Nairobi Studio Publication. From Jan - Dec 11’, I took part in several planning workshops with community, government, and other stakeholders in the Mathare Valley informal settlement in Kenya to provide secure and safe access to drinking water and sanitation.

Conducted a year-long independent research project focused on the role of architects in sites of disaster recovery. For this project, I assisted in organizing numerous community-based design and/or disaster recovery workshops, engaged in on-site construction of temporary housing, and created an online web journal. This research occurred alongside affected communities, key international agencies, academics, and government officials in multiple sites worldwide. Focus sites in Haiti, the Central Region of Kenya, and Tohoku Japan.
