As a Principal of Schroeder Slater, LLC, Sean is directly responsible for design quality control of all projects as well as marketing materials, marketing strategy, material production quality, and design team management. Mr. Slater is the design team leader as well as marketing manager for all of the firm’s projects and has primary contact with Owners for all design-intent issues. Sean currently continues in his role at Schroeder Slater, LLC but seeks opportunities that will allow him to lead a larger team and contribute on more complex and intense problem-solving projects.

Sean was the design lead for numerous domestic as well as international projects while at TVSA. The focus of his design direction was contemporary, green design solutions whether a new project or a renovation. Innovation was key to the presentation to the Owner. Many successes from providing compelling presentations and charettes with various key players. Sean was on several committees and was a leading member of the professional development team for a growing 300+ member firm. He was highly regarded as a great consensus seeker as well as ultimately a synthesizer of information for the best possible solution. Sean worked on projects in China, Dubai, Qatar, Chile and India as well as extensively throughout the US.

Sean joined with Earl Swisher, a former associate with Gwathmey Seigel Associates in New York City to form an Austin, TX division of The Lawrence Group, a St. Louis based firm. As a start-up company Sean was encouraged to market to new clients and nurture relationships with a range of consultants. Mostly high-end residential with a decidedly modern bent, the experience was very valuable in the move to a larger role.

Sean gained valuable experience from parking structures, retail/ mixed use projects/ high-end midrise residential towers and interior design

Working with a regionally significant firm out of college taught Sean a design philosophy based on a sense of whimsy and unique, local experience. Based on a regionalist sensibility, the projects on which Sean worked were colorful, graphic. Sean was given the opportunity to contribute greatly to these elements.
