Independent Clients, CAD Drafter

I designed, drafted, renovated, and transitioned an existing commercial building into a night club and restaurant by providing preliminary construction documents using AutoCAD. I also provided preliminary basement plans and elevations (mechanical and plumbing) for a client interested in renovating his basement.

MJM Architects, Intern Architect

As an intern architect (level 1 designer), I drew preliminary and detailed sketches for commercial and retail projects. While onsite, I photographed objects and scenes by adjusting photographic equipment to obtain the desired photographic effects. I communicated with clients to develop ideas on graphic arts and architectural projects.

After a few months of working with the firm, I was assigned to assist in other architectural services. Such tasks included accessing FTP websites and coordinating design and construction documents for retail and commercial projects. I also generated freehand design concepts and researched appropriate building codes for multiple projects.

Within a year, I assisted an architectural project manager in the design process from concept to execution. This included formatting layouts, updating font/clip art libraries, and revising writing materials. I also studied layouts, proposed illustration sketches, and other related materials in order to become familiar with the assigned projects.

Regal Cinemas Headquarters, Project Coordinator

I was working as a project coordinator for Regal Cinemas in their architectural department. During my first year there, I maintained all construction files and daily report logs. From there, I started creating professional quality layouts for manual reproduction and handbooks. I also drafted architectural drawings on CAD and gathered information on architectural projects.

On my second and third year, I started creating and setting up an information center for all incoming and outgoing CD's, manuals, and specifications. From there, I gathered information about the specifications for graphic arts and architectural projects. I also recorded time spent on each project

Staley Marble & Granite, Inc., CAD Drafter

When I first started working here in 2004, I managed a couple of shop drawings for materials to be fabricated on-site. I also arranged images on CAD to create the desired layout for materials to be processed.

From 2005-2007, I extracted CAD drawings from architects and began assisting in coordinating contractor submittals. During my final year, I mostly programmed shop drawings into a CNC machine that cuts marble and granite.
